Displaying and Protecting MLS Data

Ensuring Compliance and Access in the Digital Real Estate Marketplace

We've compiled the following article to provide MLS representatives with a comprehensive overview of Rescover's operations concerning MLS data. Our aim is to clearly outline how we manage, utilize, and secure the data provided to us, the functionality offered to our users, and the stringent access controls we have in place. This resource is intended to preemptively address common inquiries and illustrate our commitment to upholding the standards and requirements set forth by MLS organizations.

What is the name and description of the MLS-enabled product Rescover offers?

Rescover's "Investment Gateway" product provides a real estate data platform that features two main components: an IDX platform for public listing display on agent websites and a VOW system for in-depth property search and analysis. The platform is designed for real estate professionals to enhance their offerings and for clients to perform advanced searches based on their investment needs.

Is the product intended for broker use, public display, or both?

The product is intended for both broker use and public display.

Who is the intended audience for the product?

The intended audience includes real estate investors and real estate agents who require detailed insights into property listings and market trends.

Will the public display require consumer login credentials for access to listing data

When viewing properties using our website widgets, information authorized for public display is presented without logging in.  When clients have been invited to create a login, additional information is visible.  We strictly adhere to VOW requirements to ensure a secure and compliant environment.

Can you provide a detailed description of how MLS data will be used in your product?

MLS data is synchronized to our servers for real-time accuracy, enhanced with additional analytics like property value and rental rate estimates, and integrated into a financial model for long-term investment analysis. Agents can create branded PDF reports and share property listings with prospective clients, including a financial overview.

How often does Rescover intend to pull data from MLS?

Rescover is configured to pull data as frequently as every five minutes, maintaining a current and dynamic database for our users.

Who will have access to the MLS data?

Access is strictly limited to mutual customers of Rescover and their associated MLS, which refers to the clients of our mutual customers who are verified real estate professionals. Further access can be granted to these professionals’ clients, ensuring that sensitive MLS data remains secure. When a visitor on the Rescover site views a property and is not associated with an MLS-member agent, they are presented with non-MLS data from our extensive property database.

Can you describe your authentication process for agents?

We utilize Microsoft Azure B2C for robust authentication, ensuring that only properly credentialed and approved agents can access the comprehensive suite of tools and data on our platform. Azure's advanced security features safeguard against unauthorized access, while allowing us to provide a seamless and secure experience for verified users.
